These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by The Workshop ("we," "us," or "our"). By engaging with our services, including Step Up Stairs, Joinery & Cabinetry, and Workshop Rental, you agree to the following terms:

1. General Terms

  • Acceptance: By using our services, you accept and agree to these Terms in full. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our services.

  • Modification of Terms: We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective upon posting on our website. It is your responsibility to review these Terms regularly to stay informed of any updates.

  • Eligibility: Our services are available only to individuals who are at least 25 years old. By using our services, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Services Provided

2.1 Step Up Stairs

  • Design and Installation: We offer prefabricated and custom-built stair solutions for residential and commercial spaces. All staircases are designed to meet relevant guidelines and regulations.

  • Pricing and Payment: Prices are provided upon request and are subject to change. A deposit and payment for materials are required before work commences. The final payment is due upon completion and must be made before the release of the work. Installation costs will be charged separately after the installation is completed.

  • Turnaround Time: We strive to meet the agreed-upon deadlines, but delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances. We will communicate any changes to the schedule promptly.

2.2 Joinery & Cabinetry

  • Custom Projects: We offer a range of joinery and cabinetry services, including new builds, restoration work, and bespoke designs for residential and commercial spaces.

  • Pricing and Payment: Project quotes are provided upon consultation. A deposit and payment for materials are required before work begins. The balance is due upon completion and must be paid before the release of the work. Installation costs will be billed separately after the installation is completed.

  • Turnaround Time: Estimated completion times will be provided at the start of the project. We will make every effort to meet these timelines but cannot guarantee against delays due to unforeseen factors.

2.3 Workshop Rental

  • Access and Equipment: Workshop rental is available Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, at a rate of $180 + GST per day. Renters have access to a range of tools and equipment suitable for cabinet making and timber joinery.

  • Eligibility: Workshop rental is limited to trade-qualified individuals or those with a long-term history in trades. Proof of qualifications may be required. We reserve the right to deny rental or terminate a contract at any stage. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. A full Terms and Conditions contract will be provided upon consultation.

  • Insurance and Liability: Renters must have public liability insurance and provide a damage retainer. Renters are responsible for any damage caused to the equipment or workshop during their rental period.

  • Booking: All rentals must be booked in advance. Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the rental date to avoid charges.

3. Warranties and Guarantees

  • Workmanship: We guarantee the quality of our workmanship and materials. If any issues arise due to defects in our work, we will address them promptly within the Consumer Guarantees Act.

  • Exclusions: Our guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or modifications made by others after completion.

4. Liability

  • Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Workshop will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services.

  • Indemnity: You agree to indemnify and hold The Workshop harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your breach of these Terms or your use of our services.

5. Intellectual Property

  • Ownership: All content, designs, and materials produced by The Workshop are the intellectual property of The Workshop and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without our express written consent.

6. Governing Law

  • Jurisdiction: These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
